The Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) $30 million global distribution business headquarters in downtown Indianapolis earned the top honor at Thursday’s Monumental Awards gala. The ceremony, organized by the Indy Chamber and Society for Marketing Professional Services, honors achievements in areas including architecture, design and neighborhood revitalization.
Cummins officially opened its Indy headquarters in January. At the time, Mayor Joe Hogsett called it "truly transformative" for its economic and architectural significance.
The honors were selected by a panel of community and professional leaders from the Indianapolis region. Other winners include:
Architecture: Julia M. Carson Transit Center, Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay;
Construction: Cummins Indy Headquarters, Community Cancer Center North, Indianapolis Zoo Bicentennial Pavilion & Promenade;
Engineering: Liberty Fund, Inc.;
Innovative Reuse: Eagledale Senior Apartments, Center Grove Innovation Center, Tinker House;
Interior Design: Indiana Spine Hospital, United Way of Central Indiana Headquarters;
Neighborhood Revitalization: Flanner House Flower Garden, Outreach, Inc., Transformation of Avondale Meadows Neighborhood and Community;
Landscape Architecture: Fisher Municipal Complex Redevelopment;
Public Art: Millersville Marker, Seeds of Light, Duty—Honor—Sacrifice;
Real Estate Development: The Coil
