(NYSE: CMI) global technical center in Seymour. The operation will accommodate more than 600 of the Columbus-based company's high-horsepower engine business employees. Work is set to be complete in August 2015. Many of the workers at the Seymour Technical Center will be relocating from other parts of the high-horsepower business, which a company spokesman says will create more efficiencies.
The facility is co-located with the Seymour Engine Plant, which puts it near approximately two dozen engine research and development “test cells.”
Cummins says the technical center will be “the global focal point” for engine development and low emissions technology of its engine platforms ranging from 19 liters to 120 liters.
