Cummins Adds Walesboro Property

Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has acquired an industrial shell building in Bartholomew County. The Republic in Columbus reports the nearly 11-acre property at Woodside Northwest Industrial Park in Walesboro was acquired in December for $2.6 million.
The plan for the 50,000 square-foot building was originally conceived in 2014 and it was designed to be expandable. Cummins tells the publication plans for the property are not yet ready to be announced publicly.
Mayor Jim Lienhoop tells The Republic the property has helped attract more interest in the city and he hopes the sale will help spur development of another speculative structure.
