Columbus-based Cummins Inc. has elected one of its own to the board of directors, along with an executive from Texas-based Dell Technologies Inc. The new members include Cummins President and Chief Operating Officer Rich Freeland (pictured) and Dell Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Karen Quintos.

Freeland has been with the engine maker since 1979. Prior to being named COO, Freeland served as president of the engine business for Cummins, during which time the company says the business’ revenue grew nearly 40 percent.

Before serving in her current position, Quintos held a number of executive roles with the technology company, including chief marketing officer.

Quintos joined Dell in 2000 after serving as vice president of global operations and technology at New York-based Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C).
