The company has elected one of its own to the board, along with an executive from Texas-based Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE: DVMT).
The new members include Cummins President and Chief Operating Officer Rich Freeland, who has been with the company since 1979. Prior to being named COO, Freeland served as president of the engine business for Cummins, during which time the company says the business’ revenue grew nearly 40 percent.
"Rich has a deep understanding of our markets and customers and adding him to our Board at this pivotal time better positions Cummins for success," said Tom Linebarger, chairman and chief executive officer for Cummins. "He has a proven track record of delivering financial results for Cummins, while bringing solutions to our customers that fuel their success. I am thrilled Rich has been elected to the Cummins Board of Directors."
Joining Freeland on the board is Karen Quintos, executive vice president and chief customer officer for Dell. Before serving in her current position, Quintos held a number of executive roles with the technology company, including chief marketing officer.
"Karen Quintos is a terrific addition to our Board of Directors as Cummins enters a new era of growth and success," said Linebarger. "(Her) experience in customer service and supply chain will be an asset to us in our continued efforts to deliver world-class sales and support to our customers and create a more effective and efficient global supply chain."
Quintos joined Dell in 2000 after serving as vice president of global operations and technology at New York-based Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C).
