Ball State University has new leadership for its foundation, and the school did not look for long or very far. BSU President Geoffrey Mearns has announced Jean Crosby the next president of the Ball State University Foundation and vice president of university advancement, effective immediately.

“After careful consideration, I decided that we didn’t need to conduct an extensive search to fill this important position, because the best candidate was already on our team,” said Mearns.

BSU said Crosby has twice served in an interim capacity in the role. Mearns said Crosby has demonstrated she has the skills, the temperament, and the work ethic to lead the foundation effectively.

“I value Jean’s leadership during a moment in our university’s history when stability and continuity are more important than ever.”

Mearns said he made the decision after consulting with members of the executive committee of the foundation board and the president of the alumni council.
