Auburn-based Credent Wealth Management is continuing to grow its portfolio with the acquisition of TFG Advisors, a financial advisory firm headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Credent said in a news release that the deal brings its total assets under management to nearly $4 billion.
TFG Advisors employs 10 people, including principals George Barnhart, Terry Hirsch, and Paul Reile, all of whom will continue to serve clients from their locations in Auburn Hills and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
“From the very beginning of our conversations, it was clear that the TFG Advisors team shared Credent’s client-first philosophy and deep commitment to financial planning,” Credent CEO David Hefty said in the news release. “Their culture, values, and Midwest roots align perfectly with ours, and we’re excited to welcome such a talented group of professionals to the Credent family.”
TFG brings its assets under management of about $420 million to Credent. The firm serves about 400 clients through its two offices.
“This partnership ensures continuity for our clients and our team while opening the door to enhanced solutions and long-term growth,” Barnhart said. “We chose Credent because they’re the right cultural fit; they share our Midwest roots, client-first mindset, and our commitment to doing the right thing by both our clients and our people.”
The acquisition is Credent’s eighth in the last three years. Last October, the firm acquired Cincinnati-based Clarify Wealth Management in a $450 million deal.
