The Allen County Council is moving forward on a multi-million dollar initiative to upgrade infrastructure at a shovel-ready site. The Journal Gazette reports the council approved nearly $7 million to fund work on a 125-acre site near the General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) truck assembly plant. Council members say the new roads, sewers and water lines are necessary to lure businesses that may have previously passed on development.

Bids for the work came in around $4.6 million.

The Journal Gazette reports the county owns other properties, including two plots near the airport.
