An Ohio-based manufacturer with a large presence in Fort Wayne is moving forward with a $49 million improvement plan. The city council has approved a tax abatement request from Dana Light Axle Products LLC. The company says it will stay in Fort Wayne and retain more than 500 jobs. Dana is planning major equipment upgrades at the Allen County operation.

In filings with the city, Dana says it has a nearly $21 million annual payroll.

The abatement will last 10 years.
