Carmel City Council has approved up to $20 million in funding for a parking garage and related improvements for its marquee City Center development. The project is a public-private partnership between Carmel and Pedcor City Center Development Co. The garage will include more than 600 spaces and serve the growing number of business, restaurant and retail establishments in the area.

The city will own the garage and plans to use money from a tax increment financing district to help pay for the project.

The massive City Center project has been ongoing since 2006.
