Indianapolis-based The Corydon Group has named Cameron Carter vice president of strategic communications. The public affairs firm says Carter will merge his clients with TCG, a move that will be effective next month.

Carter is the owner of Content by Carter, which will be part of the merger. He also also a co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of TechPoint, the nonprofit growth accelerator for Indiana’s technology sector.

“We are thrilled to have someone like Cam leading our strategic communications team going forward,” said Christopher Gibson, managing principal for The Corydon Group. “Cam brings more than 30 years of strong communications, strategic business and political acumen and leadership experience to our clients. He’s the perfect complement to our existing professionals.”

Carter also previously served as a press aide to the late U.S. Senator Dick Lugar and former Vice President Dan Quayle.

“I have known and respected Corydon’s team for a very long time. It’s a firm I’m very proud to be joining,” said Carter. “I look forward to continuing the firm’s growth while never losing focus on the ethical and client-centric approach to public affairs that is in our DNA.”
