A Corydon factory is shutting down and leaving about 75 workers without jobs. North Carolina-based Daramic LLC has notified the state it intends to begin layoffs by the end of July.
The WARN notice did not specify why it is closing.
The factory produces polyethylene battery separators for automotive, industrial and specialty applications.
The company said 69 workers will be terminated July 31, while another five will remain on as the plant is closed permanently in 2021.
