Consulting Firm Acquires California Company

Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based tax and consulting firm McGuire Sponsel has acquired Export Assist in San Francisco. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however the firm says Export Assist, which provides tax benefit programs to U.S. exporters, will expand to Indianapolis.
McGuire Sponsel says Export Assist will continue to operate under its current name. The company will also continue to focus primarily on Interest Charge Domestic International Sales Corporations, or IC-DISCs.
Senior Consultants Mark O’Dell and Tedder Schwarz will become principals of Export Assist.
"Export Assist enjoys a tremendous reputation, built by industry pioneer Joe Englert," said TJ Sponsel, managing director of McGuire Sponsel. "Our acquisition seeks to build on his legacy and drive company growth utilizing McGuire Sponsel’s significant IC-DISC experience and national specialty tax expertise."
McGuire Sponsel currently employs 30 people in Indianapolis. Sponsel says the firm plans to hire 10 more employees over the next two to three years as a result of the acquisition.
