Consulate of Mexico to Celebrate 15 Years

The Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis will Thursday celebrate a milestone in the city. The consulate will mark the 15th anniversary of its inauguration in Indy, which will be the first official reception for the new Head Consul of Mexico, Luis Franco.
The consulate says the event will honor the evolution of Mexico’s only diplomatic representation in the state. The Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis was established on November 26, 2002 and serves the central and southern regions of Indiana and Ohio, southern Illinois and all of Kentucky, according to its website.
Franco was appointed head consul in July after serving at the Mexican consulate in Salt Lake City. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the consulate’s headquarters in downtown Indianapolis.
