Work is set to begin on a new affordable assisted living community in Anderson. Gardant Management Solutions in Illinois says Sweet Galilee of Anderson at the Wigwam is expected to open in the fall of 2021 and create nearly 50 jobs.
The four-story, 111,000-square-foot senior community will house 130 private studio and one-bedroom apartments. Gardant says, when fully occupied, the combined full-time and part-time jobs will have create more than $2.2 million in annual payroll and benefits.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Wednesday at the facility, located at 1315 John Street.
Sweet Galilee will have a café, private dining room, and a fitness center, among others.
The project will be developed and owned by Indianapolis-based BWI Construction, and the community will be managed by Gardant.
