News Release

Mishawaka/South Bend, Ind. — South Dakota based Primrose Retirement Communities will begin construction on an 84-unit independent and assisted living community in Mishawaka/South Bend in July. The multi-million dollar project, expected to be open in the summer of 2015, will be built by Majority Builders, Inc. and is being financed by MutualBank in Mishawaka. When open, the retirement community is expected to employ approximately 30 people.

Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka/South Bend will be located at 820 Fulmer Road. The community will consist of 36 independent living and 40 assisted living apartment homes in the main two-story building and eight independent living townhome villas. The apartments will be available in one and two-bedroom floor plans. Residents will enjoy an array of public areas including a wellness center, pub, billiards room, chapel, movie theater, bistro, and business center.

“This is an exciting time for us, and we are looking forward to becoming a part of the Mishawaka community,” said Primrose Retirement Communities President BJ Schaefbauer. “It is obvious that there is a need for this kind of senior living opportunity in the area, and we are looking forward to partnering with the community to make this a reality.”

This will be the third Primrose in Indiana, along with locations in Anderson and Kokomo.
