Construction Begins on Munster Hotel
Officials have broken ground on an $8 million project that will be part of Centennial Village in Munster. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report The four-story, 62,000 square-foot SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017.
The publication says the development will bring 30 full-time and part-time jobs. The hotel will feature 99 rooms with various amenities and a meeting space with AV capabilities for group meetings and conferences. It will be located just north of the 200-acre Centennial Park, which Munster Town Manager said will be an added attraction for guests.
"The Town of Munster couldn’t ask for a better project. Munster is a town of high standards," Anderson told The Times. "I see a future downtown and a seamless connection with the park."
The hotel is part of the Centennial Village, a mixed-use development for which the town has agreed to invest nearly $8 million over the next two years. The publication reports CPV Partners, which is developing the site, has pledged to attract $36 million in investment to the site over the next 20 years.
