Construction is underway on a new MonoSol LLC plant in Portage. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the $95 million project is expected to create more than 150 jobs. The company was profiled in a recent edition of INdiana Connections. The foundation has been poured. The next milestone is covering the roof of the 300,000 square-foot facility before winter.

Double-digit growth led to the expansion.

The Merrillville-based company has factories in Portage, LaPorte and the United Kingdom.

When complete, employees plant will make water-soluble film used for laundry detergent, agrochemicals and fertilizers.
