Developers have broken ground on a $6 million hotel in French Lick. The 68-room Best Western is set to open next spring. July 17, 2014

News Release

FRENCH LICK, Ind. (July 14, 2014) – A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 for a new $6 million Best Western Plus hotel to be located at 613 Arnold Habig Boulevard in French Lick IN. C & B Hospitality, LLC owners/investors Kevin Beaty and Donavan Crews, Hillcrest Development Inc. president and CEO, Al Hill and General Hotels Corporation vice president of sales and marketing, Glenn Brooks conducted the ceremony with French Lick Redevelopment Commission president Barry Wininger providing remarks.

The groundbreaking event offered attendees an opportunity to meet the hotel owners and project's architect and view architectural renderings.

Upon completion, the thoughtfully designed Best Western Plus French Lick will feature 68 well-appointed guest rooms, including 5 extended stay rooms along with limited function space to accommodate small meetings. Additional amenities and services will include complimentary breakfast, complimentary high-speed Internet, long distance access and local calls along with a business center, indoor swimming pool, fitness center and on-site guest laundry. Completion of the project is slated for spring 2015.

Best Western Plus French Lick investors include C & B Hospitality, LLC, located in French Lick, Indianapolis based General Hotels Corporation and Hillcrest Development, Inc. located in Dixon, IL.

“The Best Western Plus will be a huge asset for the Town of French Lick,” said Barry Wininger, French Lick Redevelopment Commission president. “The hotel will provide the additional sleeping rooms needed to attract larger conventions to our area and fills a much needed pricing level for rooms in French Lick. We look forward to working with Best Western Plus with the goal of having the hotel open by the Senior PGA event in May of 2015.”

“This is an exciting time for the town of French Lick,” said C & B Hospitality, LLC owners/investors Kevin Beaty and Donavan Crews. “This is a project that we have wanted to do for quite some time and felt now is a perfect time to add our Best Western Plus hotel. A quality hotel at an affordable price to the average traveler will be a great addition to our community.

There are a lot of pieces to make a project like this happen and we can’t thank the Town of French Lick enough for their support on this project. Their leadership understands the big picture and the impact this project will have on our community through additional employment opportunities and business for everyone.”
