Public sector, private sector and education leaders will meet Thursday at an event focusing on improving career readiness for Indiana college graduates. E2E Convergence, which will be held on the IUPUI campus, aims to better align the needs of employers with college preparation. Indiana University Associate Director for Economic Development Joe Carley says the event’s ultimate objective is to give all students "every available opportunity to gain the proper skills for career success."
Carley tells Inside INdiana Business says a wide range of industries could benefit from these discussions.
The conference will be held for the second time. Last year’s E2E Convergence involved representatives from nearly two dozen colleges and universities from throughout the state. The next president of Ivy Tech Community College, former Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann, will deliver the keynote address. She also serves as vice chair of the Indiana Career Council.
Additional speakers and panelists include: Eli Lilly & Co. Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Diversity Steve Fry, Cummins Inc. Vice President of Human Resource Operations Mark Osowick, BioCrossroads and Central Indiana Corporate Partnership Chief Executive Officer David Johnson, Indiana INTERNnet Inc. Executive Director Janet Boston, Wabash College Dean for Professional Development Alan Hill, Zimmer Biomet Talent Acquisition Leader Erin Morris, Indiana University Kokomo Chancellor Susan Sciame-Giesecke and IUPUI Chancellor Nasser Paydar.
