Shelby Materials says it has agreed to move its facility on State Road 32 to another location in Westfield that is five miles away.
The former plant site will become home to Spring Mill Centre, which will offer retail, office, and industrial space.
Shelby said it will use the relocation as an opportunity to upgrade the plant to better serve customers north of Indianapolis.
“We knew in 2009 when we purchased the original site at Spring Mill Road and SR 32 that it was only a temporary location for us. Now, we’re putting down permanent roots in Westfield,” said Shelby Materials President, Matt Haehl. “We look forward to growing our community involvement and continuing to serve the residential and commercial concrete needs of Hamilton, Tipton and Boone counties.”
Haehl said the state-of-the-art plant will allow for increased production.
