The Midwest Alternative Fuel Initiative says it will offer a "solution-based" program for municipalities or businesses.
The group will work with interested parties to address emission reduction, conversion cost, fuel access, service, maintenance, financing and technology.
Companies involved include Advanced VTech, AGA Systems, Ozinga Energy and STAG USA. It is being supported by Clean Cities organizations in the region, including South Shore Clean Cities Inc.
The organizations involved say it will create a "significant opportunity to capitalize on attractive incentives" and help lock-in low fuel prices such as propane and compressed natural gas.
