Companies Detail Growth in Richmond

Two companies in Richmond are planning expansions. Perpetual Recycling Solutions LLC and Contact Industrial Tooling intend to invest a combined $5.5 million into new equipment, space and employee training.
Perpetual Recycling Solutions’ $5.2 million commitment represents the company’s first major growth since it located to the former General Aluminum facility in 2012. The plastics recycler currently employs 76 workers, an increase from the 55 employees that started three years ago. The company says the expansion will result in greater efficiencies and a more skilled work force.
CIT is looking to add 10 workers along with 10,000 square-feet of space. The contract manufacturer of steel racks and containers for the automotive and industrial vehicle industries says its $300,000 investment will boost fabrication and welding capacity. President Kim Wuertemberger says new industrial, medical and hydraulic liftgate production over the last eight years has led to growth. "By adding these additional customers, CIT’s volume has doubled in this period of time and continues to grow in these areas as well as shipping racks and containers. With the growth that we have experienced and continue to experience the time was right to expand our square footage and also add additional equipment to increase our in-house capabilities and capacities." The company’s clients include Honda, Toyota and Toyota Industrial, Subaru, Mitsubishi/CAT and Case.
