Community Health, Butler Partner Up

Indianapolis-based Community Health Network is partnering with Butler University to launch a leadership development program. The six-month course will help 20 of the health system’s leaders identify "fundamental drivers" of business in healthcare.

Community says the course will also show the use of integrated business knowledge to solve problems and develop relationships between functional areas. Four Butler professors and an executive education director will lead the program.

"Attracting great employees to Community Health Network is a high priority, and so is retaining them and developing them to lead our organization into the future," said Wayne Pack, Community chief human resources officer. "Our partnership with Butler University is just another way we are taking those who are already changing lives today and equipping them with the skills they need to evolve and grow to be the senior leaders of tomorrow."

Community says the participants include a vice president of oncology and a manager of rehabilitation services. The classes will be held once a month, the majority of which will be held at a Community facility. The classes will focus on areas including human resources, finance, marketing, performance improvement, leadership, investment and management.
