The executive director of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne has announced plans to retire. David Bennett, who has led the organization since 1995, will step down at the end of the year. During his tenure as executive director, the organization’s assets have grown from $33 million to more than $140 million. The foundation has grown its annual grants and scholarships from $1.2 million in 1995 to $10.2 million in 2016. The foundation says an executive transition committee has been formed and hopes to have a successor named by January 1. Bennett says he will remain as executive director until that person has been named.
