The funding aims to address youth development and quality of life issues throughout the county.
The organization also awarded Good Neighbor grants, which are given monthly and designed to support community activities and stimulate creative ideas among grassroots groups. The recipients of each type of grant include:
Youth Development
- Bashor Children’s Home, $50,000/year 1 of 2, human trafficking residential program
- Elkhart Community Schools, $25,000 (1:1 Challenge Grant), support for musical instruments at ECHS
- Horizon Education Alliance, $186,000, Triple P Positive Parenting
- LoveWay, $24,500/year 1 of 2 (1:1 Challenge Grant), Volunteer Coordinator
- Ryan’s Place, $30,000/year 1 of 2 (1:1 Challenge Grant), Grief Support programs
- St. Vincent de Paul School, $21,000, school iPad project
Vibrant Community
- Elkhart Civic Theatre, $50,500 (1:1 Challenge Grant), renovations
- Elkhart County Arts Alliance, $20,000, Civic Engagement of Arts programming
- Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau, $90,000/year 2 of 3, Vibrant Communities Initiative
- Friends of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, $250,000, final trail expansion: CR 20 to CR 35
- Habitat for Humanity Elkhart County, $60,000, Southside Neighborhood Homes
Quality of Life
- ADEC, 12,500/year 1 of 5, ETHOS partnership
- Elkhart County Clubhouse, $83,000/year 2 of 2 (1:1 Challenge Grant), renovations
- Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network, $75,000, fixed shelter site
- Greencroft Foundation, $25,000/year 1 of 3, in-home services
- Lutheran Foundation, $100,000, Addictions Prevention, Education and Recovery programs
- Maple City Health Care Center, $100,000, Operations and Client Service Expansion
- Renew, $50,000 (1:1 Challenge Grant), Transitional Housing Renovations
