State, local and company officials have commissioned Indiana’s newest wind farm. The $200 million Bluff Point Wind Energy Center includes 57 turbines and Florida-based NextEra Energy Resources Inc. says the installation in Jay and Randolph Counties could produce enough power for more than 36,000 homes.

Throughout the months of construction, the project has created an estimated 200 construction jobs. The company says the wind farm could generate over $30 million in tax revenue over its lifetime. NextEra Energy says around a dozen permanent jobs will be created as a result of the installation.

NextEra Energy touts itself as the world’s largest utility company. It has wind projects in 20 states and four Canadian provinces.
