The Metropolitan Development Commission in Marion County is set for a preliminary tax abatement vote Wednesday on a project a California company says will create more than 100 new jobs. ooShirts Inc. plans to invest nearly $1 million to set up a printing operation in Lawrence. The Lawrence plant would be operated by ooShirts subsidiary Little Raymond's Print Shop Inc. The company says the job growth would take place over the next four years, with about half of the new hires occurring this year.

ooShirts says rapid growth is leading to the move. If the commission approves the abatement Wednesday, it could come up for a final vote in September.
