The group has received the Federal Laboratory Consortium’s State and Local Economic Development Award for work on the Rural Indiana Technology Commercialization Initiative.
RITCI was launched in 2015 to boost the commercialization of Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division innovations. It is a collaboration among the University of Southern Indiana, NSWC Crane Division, Purdue University, Indiana University and the Indiana Office of Defense Development.
The Federal Laboratory Commission is a network of more than 300 laboratories, agencies and research centers throughout the United States. Its focuses include accelerating the path of innovations from laboratories to the commercial marketplace. The State and Local Economic Development Award recognizes partnerships that spark economic development growth.
