Commerce Bank Named Small Business Lender of the Year

The Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp. has named Commerce Bank of Evansville its 2017 Indiana Small Business Lender of the Year. The award is given to the Indiana bank that devotes the largest percentage of deposits to U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loans with the Statewide CDC.
A spokesperson for the Statewide CDC tells Inside INdiana Business Commerce Bank of Evansville arranged for two loans totaling $870,000 for Heritage Custom Fabricators of Jasper and Hett’s Graphics & Gifts in Evansville.
Jasper-based German American Bank is the runner-up for 2017. The Statewide CDC said last week it funded more than $28 million in loans to 39 companies during the fiscal year, marking the second-highest total in its history.
