The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission is holding a 30-day public comment period on three documents related to the project.
The project includes the additional lanes on I-65 between State Road 2 and State Road 10 near Lowell. Comments will be gathered on Amendment #2 to the 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan Companion Update, Amendment #17 to the 2016-2019 Transportation Improvement Program, and a new Air Quality Conformity Analysis. You can find more information on the project at the NIRPC’s web site.
All comments received during the 30-day period, which runs through April 15, will be compiled into a public comment report, which will be made available to the public and the relevant NIRPC committees before any action is taken. The NIRPC will also hold a public meeting March 31 at the Lowell Public Library. Click here for more information on how to submit a comment.
If approved, the project would add to the previously approved added travel lanes on I-65 between U.S. 30 and State Road 2.
