Colts Team Physician to Step Down

Methodist Sports Medicine’s Arthur Rettig has served in the role since 1999 and has been with the organization since its relocation to Indy in 1984.
Rettig will serve as emeritus associate team physician upon stepping down from his current position. Thomas Klootwyk, who has served as an associate team physician for the past 18 years, will succeed Rettig as head team physician.
"Dr. Rettig has had an amazing 50-year career practicing sports medicine and orthopedic surgery," said Colts Owner Jim Irsay. "We are extremely grateful for his outstanding service, professionalism and friendship as our team physician for more than three decades. I am also pleased he is going to continue serving the team as Emeritus Associate Team Physician."
Klootwyk joined Indianapolis-based Methodist Sports Medicine in 1992 and has been with the colts as a team physician and orthopedic consultant since 1999.
