The team has launched Colts Productions, which Vice President of Communications Steve Campbell says is part of an effort to provide fans year-round entertainment. Colts Productions began its first video series, "With The Next Pick," earlier this month on social media and the Colts website, providing fans access to the team’s draft room.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Sports host Bill Benner, Campbell said the Colts organization has been extremely supportive of the new endeavor.
"The Irsay family gave us the tools that the organization needed to really put their best foot forward when it comes to content and production, so they’ve been fully supportive," said Campbell. "And then (Colts General Manager) Chris Ballard and (Head Coach) Frank Reich have been very different than a lot of coaches around the country in allowing this access even to their most vulnerable moments. That’s what fans want to see and we want to give fans what they want."
To launch the new division, the Colts hired Matt Dominick as senior director of content and production. Dominick previously worked for the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs. He says, with his new position, he’s filming things he never expected to film.
"For the first episode that we had for the draft series that came out, we were in Kansas City for the last game and the team lost. We were in the locker room and filming after the loss which is something I have never done before in all of my career, but that’s something that Frank Reich and Chris Ballard were okay with and wanted us to be there to get those moments and that’s the kind of access that we’re giving fans."
Dominick says he will be in the Colts’ draft room during the event to get what he calls "unprecedented" footage for the final episode of the "With The Next Pick" series. You can learn more about the series by clicking here.
