Col. Shaw Takes Command at Grissom

Col. Larry Shaw III has taken command of the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom Air Reserve Base. He first came to the base in 1996 and has served in positions including assistant chief pilot, chief of tactics, chief of mission development and operations officer. Shaw began his career in 1988 after graduating from the University of Nebraska. He is a command pilot with more than 5,700 flying hours. He has deployed in support of military operations such as Endeavor, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Shaw replaced Col. Doug Schwartz, who retired.
