Indianapolis-based ClusterTruck founder Chris Baggott says he hopes to expand to 20 markets this year. In addition to growing in Indianapolis, the company recently entered the Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio, Kansas City and Denver markets. Baggott says the biggest challenge for the company is finding the right location in each market to be able to meet its delivery goals.
During an interview with Inside INdiana Business Television, Baggott said there is plenty of room for growth in the "many, many billion-dollar market." He says the demand is due in large part to office business.
Baggott launched ClusterTruck in April 2016, with the goal of redefining how customers order food on demand. The platform marries food delivery with technology, aiming to maximize the freshness of the delivered food. Baggott says ClusterTruck’s system times every aspect of the ordering, cooking and delivery process and promises never to have food sitting under a heat lamp or placed in a heat bag.
Since launching in 2016, ClusterTruck says it has attracted more than 11,000 customers and raised more than $3 million in capital. In late 2016, the company closed on a $1 million round of funding, which allowed it to expand into Bloomington and Columbus, Ohio. ClusterTruck earned the Corporate Innovator of the Year and New Startup of the Year honors at the 18th Annual Mira Awards last year.
