Clinton County Foundation Gets $125K Donation

Frankfort-based The Farmers Bank has donated $125,000 to the Clinton County Community Foundation. The gift is in honor of former bank chief executive officer and foundation board member Karen Miller, who passed away in November.
The foundation is in the final month of trying to secure $500,000 in matching funding. The $125,000 gift is eligible for a dollar-for-dollar match through a Lilly Endowment Inc. initiative.
The Farmers Bank’s Kent Ryan says "this contribution is in recognition of how Karen felt about the community. She was admired by bank members and everybody strived to follow her example of supporting the community. This is a gift from the bank, board, employees and shareholders. Karen’s interest in the community had a wide depth and breadth and the Foundation’s mission includes the whole community – this was a natural connection."
The nonprofit charitable organization was launched in 1996. The Farmers Bank, which has 10 central Indiana locations, was chartered in 1876.
