Tax abatement requests for two big developments in downtown Fort Wayne have been presented to the city council. The projects, seeking a total of more than $5 million, include a new Ash Brokerage Corp. headquarters and a Lutheran Health customer service center. Our partners at 21Alive/NBC33 report they could be up for a final vote next month. Councilman Tom Didier says these incentives could help keep jobs in Fort Wayne that would go out-of-state.

A public hearing on the requests is set for March 10.

The Ash Brokerage project is part of a $100 million plan that includes residential, parking and retail space.

Lutheran Health is looking to invest more than $6 million into its expansion.
