Officials have cut the ribbon on a $62 million transformation of the former Central State Hospital site in Indianapolis. The project consists of four developments on the 150-acre property. It includes a large apartment building, event hall and a synthetic turf sports field.

Plans to redevelop the site have been discussed for the better part of a decade.

The medical care facilities on the land were closed in the mid-1990s.
