Three companies in Indianapolis are seeking preliminary tax abatement approval Wednesday on expansions affecting around 250 current and future workers. The projects represent a combined $11 million in investment. Environmental Forensic Investigations Inc. is the only one of three looking to add jobs. The nearly $1 million investment would help double the environmental engineering firm's current work force of 42. If approved, the Metropolitan Development Commission would hold a final public hearing on the matter May 20.

Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc. subsidiary The American Bottling Co. intends to pump $6.3 million into new equipment and retention of nearly 130 full-time workers.

Michigan-based Harvard Drug Group LLC intends to invest $3.5 million into an expansion that would also retain 40 employees.
