More than 10 high school student entrepreneurs will present their business plans to a panel of investors Wednesday. It's part of the Young Entrepreneurs Program through the Greater Elkhart Chamber.

ELKHART, Ind. – A dozen high school students from Elkhart Memorial, Concord, Jimtown, and Elkhart Central have been working on launching their own businesses since November in the YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM through the Greater Elkhart Chamber.

On April 1 they will present their business plans to a panel of investors at the Elkhart Area Career Center in hopes of getting their ventures funded, starting at 5:30 p.m.

WNDU weatherman Gary Sieber will be the emcee of the event, which opens with light refreshments at 5:30 p.m. followed by formal presentations from 6 to 8. One of the start-ups will represent the Elkhart YEA! program at a US regional competition in Rochester, NY May 7-8.

Last Year’s winner, Samantha Shank, is currently running a successful business called the Parsi Co. Another participant, Karen Lopez, who did not have college plans was able to enroll at Indiana University of South Bend supported on the income provided by her YEA!-based business.
