The executive director of the Capital Improvement Board in Indianapolis has announced plans to retire. Barney Levengood, who has led the CIB for nearly 30 years, says he will step down at the end of April.

Levengood came to Indianapolis in 1991 and during his tenure, has overseen the demolition of the RCA Dome and the construction of Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Victory Field.

The CIB has tapped Carmel-based Medallion Partners to assist with a national search for Levengood’s successor.
