Professional trumpet player Dan Gosling says CVS stores are selling his all-natural lip balm product, ChopSaver. The product hit store shelves this month. Gosling created the balm in his kitchen in 2004. He says, in order to beat top competitors like Blistex, Carmex and Burt’s Bees, which have decades of name recognition, his product needed to be "dramatically better."
During a Studio (i) interview with Inside INdiana Business Life Sciences reporter Kylie Veleta, Gosling said his goal was to create something unique.
Gosling says the key ingredient is arnica, a sunflower extract and natural anti-inflammatory. He notes 10 of the 19 ingredients are certified organic. He says musicians sparked the idea for his product. You can imagine playing a wind instrument for hours and needing some lip repair. He says ChopSaver helps people who suffer from chronic chapped lips.
Gosling tells Inside INdiana Business Life Sciences reporter Kylie Veleta, ChopSaver is now available nationwide. He says ChopSaver is available at all 7,432 CVS Pharmacy locations. He says it’s also sold at Kroger, New York drug store chain Kinney Drugs, dermatology offices and music stores throughout the country. ChopSaver Lip Care currently includes ChopSaver 100% Natural and ChopSaver SPF 15.
