Purdue University Northwest Director of the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation Chenn Zhou has been awarded The Society of Innovators Gerald I. Lamkin Fellow for Innovation and Service. She was previously named a Society Fellow in 2005 for her work to extend the life of blast furnaces and then again as a recipient of the team Chanute Prize in 2012 for launching CIVS at Purdue Northwest.

The Gerald I. Lamkin Fellow for Innovation and Service award honors visionaries and innovators who practice extraordinary service to the community, region and world. Zhou is recognized for her establishment of the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium that aspires to uplift the American steel industry.

The Society of Innovators was established by Ivy Tech Community College in 2005.
