Jessica Herzog has been appointed Smart Steps program coordinator for Chaucie’s Place, a nonprofit child advocacy organization that works to prevent child sexual abuse and youth suicide through prevention programs for children, adults and school systems. She has served as a victim advocate in a domestic violence shelter, a legal advocate for victims of violent crime during the court process and as an intern at the Special Victim’s Unit at the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department.

Throughout her career Herzog has focused on helping victims of violent crime and preventing sexual abuse and domestic abuse. She will oversee the program that will reach more than 25,000 elementary aged students across a multitude of school districts in central Indiana. Herzog holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bellarmine University.
