Indianapolis-based Renaissance LLC has named Edward Thompson president and chief executive officer. He succeeds Elizabeth Packer Bassett, who will serve as chairman of the board. July 1, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The nation's largest independent charitable planning administrator, Renaissance, announced today that Edward Thompson has been selected as their new President/CEO. Elizabeth Packer Bassett, who has served as President/CEO for the previous 13 years, has been named Chairman of the Board.

“We are very excited to have someone of Thompson's experience and expertise join our organization,” said Bassett, who has led the company through multiple years of exponential growth. “We believe that the addition of Mr. Thompson will bring a new level of business acumen to the organization and with it more growth opportunities in both the retail and institutional business sectors.” Thompson comes to Renaissance as an innovative and broadly experienced senior executive with Fortune 100 and entrepreneurial start-up experience. With a track record of driving results, direct contributions to stakeholder value and building effective teams to facilitate growth, he has extensive operational, business strategy / IT consulting and general management experience.

“I am excited to be associated with Renaissance and the dedicated team that is focused on enabling our clients' charitable giving in an impactful and cost effective manner. I look forward to continuing the success and operational excellence that Elizabeth and the team have established,” said Thompson.

As Renaissance's core functionality as a premium charitable planning administrator remains unchanged, their expansion into the growing market of donor-advised fund program creation and administration has contributed to the success of the company under Bassett. While looking for opportunities to grow and move into new markets, the company will continue providing top-level charitable planning services to donors, financial advisors, attorneys, accountants, charitable organizations and more.

Thompson's appointment as President/CEO is effective immediately, and Bassett also assumes her new role as Chairman of the Board immediately.
