Chamber Ranks ‘Best Places to Work’ in Indiana

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has revealed the rankings for its 2021 Best Places to Work in Indiana program, which includes two repeat winners in the top spots. More than 125 companies are included in the list, which is divided into four categories based on company size.

The rankings are based on employee evaluations, which measures the companies’ strength and weaknesses.

Bedford-based JA Benefits LLC, an employee benefits company, once again is ranked No. 1 in the small category. The chamber says this is the third year in a row for JA to earn top honors.

American College of Education, a private, for-profit online college in Indianapolis, earned the top spots in the medium category.

In the large business category, Indy-based Onebridge, a business intelligence and data analytics consulting firm, claimed the top prize.

Microsoft, the technology giant with a local office in Indianapolis, earned once again top honors in the major company category.  The chamber says Microsoft has finished No. 1 nine of the 11 times it has participated in the program.

Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana.

Two companies – Edward Jones and Katz, Sapper & Miller – have made the Best Places to Work list all 16 years of the program.

“It’s a pleasure to showcase these companies and the astounding examples they are setting as desirable workplace cultures in the face of all the unique challenges of the past year,” said Indiana Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Brinegar. “They each serve not only their staffs and customers very well, but also their communities and the state’s economy. We applaud them for stepping up to the plate and continuing to shine in 2021.”

Some winners on the list have also achieved special designation as Hall of Fame or Pinnacle companies. Hall of Fame companies have been named to the list at least 60% of the time in the program’s history, while Pinnacle companies have finished first in their category three or more times in a five-year period.
