Chamber Looking ‘Beyond The Bicentennial’
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is releasing a series of letters over the next several weeks outlining what it calls the "most potentially impactful public policies" facing the next governor of Indiana. They will focus on talent, business climate, infrastructure and culture.
The chamber says the blueprint of the campaign is its Indiana Vision 2025 plan, which was introduced in 2012. Chief Executive Officer Kevin Brinegar says the effort presents "a great opportunity to highlight initiatives that will benefit Indiana now and in the years ahead."
The first letter focuses on recommendations for improving Indiana’s talent pipeline. The chamber says they include "critical improvements" to education and training efforts at the K-12, postsecondary and work force levels.
In a release, Brinegar said, "While businesses are rightfully concerned about their current and future workforces, for individuals we’re talking about the difference between happy, productive lives and what can amount to an economic death sentence if proper education and training are not received."
Inside INdiana Business will feature the letters in its Perspectives columns over the next several weeks.
