The Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana has a new chief executive officer. Tim Maniscalo has been serving as manager of state affairs for Responsible Industry for Sound Environment. He also spent more than 30 years at Dow AgroSciences. September 13, 2013

INDIANAPOLIS — The Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana appointed Tim Maniscalo to serve as its new chief executive officer. Maniscalo most recently served as manager of state affairs for Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment following a 31-year career with Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences.

“With skill, vision and vigor, Tim demonstrated to the Selection Committee remarkable capabilities and character that will assure success as the Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana works to take an even higher profile and more active role in assisting consumers and accredited businesses in our community,” said Lisa Schlehuber, board chair for the Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana. “Tim’s experience, professional accomplishments and extraordinary leadership make him an ideal appointment to serve as CEO and to guide our leading organization into the future as the best source for unbiased and accurate business information and a reliable and credible resource for central Indiana consumers.”

The Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana is a leading resource for consumers to turn to for objective, unbiased information on businesses, charities and scams, along with assisting in the resolution of consumer disputes and accrediting businesses through a careful review process.

“The Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana has an incredible legacy of trust with businesses and consumers in our region, and I look forward to building upon that with increased outreach and engagement with both the business community and the public to provide even more information and services,” said Maniscalo. “We will seek to advance an active vision for our future, one that establishes our organization as a pre-eminent resource for the community, provide value for our membership and continually improve our organizational capabilities.”

Maniscalo will begin his tenure as CEO on Monday, Sept. 16.

As a leader in government affairs for the pesticide and fertilizer industry, Maniscalo served as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee for RISE, as well as serving on the Government Affairs Committee for National Pest Management Association. Active in the community, Maniscalo serves the Zionsville Education Foundation, campaign cabinet for the United Way of Central Indiana and the Union Elementary School Dad’s Club. Maniscalo is certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a graduate of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, where he earned a B.S. in marketing and finance.
