Ceiling Fan Company Sees Progress in Regulation Battle

Subscribe NowA Zionsville-based ceiling fan manufacturer says progress is being made on Capitol Hill to stop proposed regulations that could have a devastating impact on its bottom line. Fanimation Inc. says an amendment in the Energy and Water Appropriations bill prevents the U.S. Department of Energy from implementing additional requirements on ceiling fans and ceiling fan light kits. Fanimation says the proposed increase in energy efficiency regulations would stop companies from producing what it describes as reasonable priced fans.
The company has 50 workers in Zionsville.
If the bill is signed, the amendment would be in effect for Fiscal Year 2014.
