Vice President for Advancement Nicole Beasley expects the fiscal year will end with $3.5 million in donations, making it the most successful year in the history of the Cathedral Fund.
Beasley says, each year, the fund is charged with raising $2.5 million. So far this fiscal year, the organization has secured more than $3.2 million. She says the school commits "to using these funds to give students expanded next-generation learning opportunities."
The school says the record year of giving will support several projects, including tennis court and softball field upgrades and flexible learning spaces throughout campus. School leaders say the new learning environments will allow for more hands-on learning experiences and increased collaboration with peers.
The Cathedral Fund says it has seen an increase this year in average size of gifts as well as total amount of gifts. Director Megan Thie says this year’s success positions the school well for its upcoming 100th anniversary in 2018.
